Ugarit tablet KTU 1.78: 'the sun went in' with Rashap as her gatekeeper

'In the six days of the new moon of (the month) Hiyaru, the sun went in (or set), her gatekeeper being Rashap.' Read as a solar eclipse with Mars (Rashap) visible; dated 3 May 1375 BC (Sawyer and Stephenson 1970), 5 March 1223 BC (de Jong and van Soldt 1989) or 21 January 1192 BC (Dietrich and Loretz 2002). Some read it as a heliacal setting of Mars instead.
