A total eclipse of the Moon on 16 November 1453, high over Korea and China
NASA catalog: total lunar eclipse, 16 November 1453, greatest 12:29 UT, totality 60 minutes, Moon overhead near 171 E. In Korea it fell in the evening with the Moon high. If the 1452/53 veil was still up, the eclipsed Moon should have been very dark or invisible (Danjon 0 or 1). A description of it in Korean, Chinese or Japanese records would test the veil. Later total eclipses on 5 November 1454 and 24 August 1458 (both East Asia) give comparisons.
