White vapour shaped like a turtle, with a blue-violet vapour inside it, Korea, 18 July 1052
Goryeosa, King Munjong year 6, month 6, day kuei-szu. 'A white vapour stretched across the sky in the form of a turtle. And a blue-violet vapour penetrated somewhere inside it. After a long while they dispersed.' Entry 131 in the Yau, Stephenson and Willis catalogue. Five months before the Chinese record of 13 December 1052, so not the same night, but it shows the Korean court was logging sky glows that year. The same catalogue has no Korean, Chinese or Japanese entry between July 1052 and December 1067, and it does not include the Chinese 13 December 1052 record at all.
