Japanese court diaries: no red or white vapour around 1279
Ken's hand search of the Kokiroku full-text database (25 October 2026) covered every diary in it at once (Shoyuki, Chuyuki, Gonijo Moromichi-ki and the Kamakura-era diaries). Red vapour (赤気) appears only in the 1400s; white vapour (白気) only in 973, 1098 and false matches. Nothing in 1277 to 1282. Caveat: the database holds only the diaries printed in the Dai Nihon Kokiroku series, and several Kamakura diaries have gaps.
