A comet in the southern sky with a tail over 1 zhang, Korea, 25 February 1053
Goryeosa volume 47, astronomy: '二月乙亥,彗出庫樓,入翼,長丈餘', Munjong year 7, month 2, day yi-hai, about 25 February 1053: a comet appeared in Kulou (Centaurus and Lupus) and moved into Yi (Crater), its tail over 1 zhang. This matters for the 1052 hunch: a comet's tail is an innocent explanation for a 'white vapour', if the same comet was in the northern sky ten weeks earlier.
