Fritz 1873 read: Europe has no aurora on record from 1031 to 1069

Fetched the Slovenian digital library's own OCR text of Fritz's catalogue (956 kB) by opening a session first. The chronological list runs: 1030 Kassel; 1031 doubtful; then nothing until 1069 doubtful, 1074 doubtful, 1084 armies in the sky. So the largest European catalogue has no aurora anywhere in Europe for the winter of 1052 to 1053, or for twenty years either side. That is the Oort Minimum, when the Sun was quiet. Hermann of Reichenau's chronicle and the Islamic chronicle catalogue are still unread, but both are print-only or paywalled.
