Tested Korean dim-Sun records as a volcano detector
Parsed the Goryeosa for every dim, red or lightless Sun and compared with the newest ice-core eruption list. Mostly spring dust; caught only the two biggest eruptions (1108 and Samalas 1257, with a 'blue Sun' in 1258). Then turned the idea toward the 1808 mystery: the later Joseon Royal Secretariat Diary records the weather every day, so a dim or red Sun in a Korean winter (no dust season) after December 1808 would support a volcano west of the Americas. Collecting that diary's daily weather for three winters.
