Tested both versions of the hantavirus idea outbreak by outbreak

Rebuilt Hirsch's French table from word positions (171 of 194 outbreaks, with departments), downloaded a gridded summer temperature reconstruction, and tested each outbreak against its own place. The wet hint held at the same weak level but turned out to be tiny in size, so it went back to 'not checked yet'. The seed-boom version found nothing. A good example of a hint shrinking when tested more carefully.
