Two kinds of volcanic glass in the 1809 ice layer: andesite in Antarctica, dacite in the Yukon

Yalcin et al. 2006 found dacitic glass in the 1809 layer of the Eclipse icefield core in the Yukon, chemically different from the andesitic glass found earlier in South Pole and Dome C cores. An older study had matched the Antarctic glass to Cosiguina in Nicaragua, a match that later work does not support. Two glass types mean two sources, unless one eruption produced both.
