California sequoia and Finnish pine: radiocarbon rise around 1054 to 1055 at both sites
Terrasi et al. 2020. A rise around 1054/55 larger than normal solar-cycle wobble at 2 sigma, seen at the same time in a sequoia and a pine on different continents. They list three possible causes: gamma rays from the Crab supernova of 1054, an unusually deep solar minimum, or a solar particle event. 'More data are needed.'
