Pulled the raw radiocarbon numbers
Downloaded the PANGAEA dataset behind Brehm 2021 and computed Delta-14C ring by ring. Only one tree covers the 1050s: English oak STK-C10, which jumps 5.8 permil between the 1052 and 1053 rings. Then found three more studies: Kujawy oak (first high ring 1053), Furness Abbey oak (rise only at 1055, fails to replicate), and a sequoia plus Finnish pine (rise 1054 to 1055, possibly the 1054 supernova). Added the rival supernova hunch to the board.
