Read the Miyahara 2022 paper Ken found
Ken found the paper free to read and pasted it. It changed three hunches. 1261: already considered by the authors and the timing rules it out. 1268: our 'no witnesses' puzzle was wrong, since a Korean record of 15 February 1269 exists and is already paired. 1279: the authors say no aurora is known, but the Korean violet glow of 25 October 1279 falls inside their own timing window, so this becomes our second 'looking good' hunch. Also downloaded their ring-by-ring data and learned that oak records can lag a year.
